“Three Wise Men and a Baby” -

Everest Academy Manila proudly staged its version of “Three Wise Men and a Baby” last December 18, 2008 at the school gymnasium.

 All 83 kids went up the stage and sang well-loved and classic tunes of the season as well as heartwarming renditions of songs from the musical, to the delight of their family members, relatives and friends who all came to see the concert. 

The kids went through auditions before about 14 kids, mostly from the 3rd grade, were included in the main cast. They had fun during regular rehearsals where they had simple acting workshops from the play director and coaches. The kids proved that they were veterans at an early stage, having memorized all their lines in two weeks time!

 The choir likewise underwent rigorous rehearsals as they played a big role in the production. They too, had to memorize lines and not to forget choreography for majority of the eight-track musical.

 Besides the teachers who acted as acting and speech coaches, props managers and musical and play director, the parents also assisted by providing the kids with costumes that really helped make the setting a realistic one. School personnel and administrators also lent their time and efforts during the whole month and a half preparations. 

That night, family, relatives and friends gathered in the school gymnasium, all in the spirit of the true meaning of the season, that is celebrating the birth of Christ, our Savior. And as the song goes, that night, all truly went “to see the King, the King of everything”!
